This week the fabulous ladies at Lunette released their new brand video which I had the opportunity to write the copy for.
I got to see the video (in its completed state) for the first time last week and my heart sung with glee. Of course, I’m bias. I love their brand, messaging and just generally working with them has been bliss the whole way. But hearing the words I wrote presented like that...wow.
It’s not perfect. It might not speak to everyone. But gosh darn being part of a creative process and seeing the final production was amazing.
What’s it all about?
The story told in the video is what it is and some of the messages behind it may seem obvious (being true to yourself, growing as a person etc) but why would a company tell a story like this? Or any other story for that matter?
Intentions are super important with anything we do as business owners, marketers and storytellers. If you have the opportunity to open up a communication channel and talk about those intentions, you should take it.
“Products don’t empower you. We believe you already have the power right there within but that access to informed choices, sharing big ideas and creating new stories for ourselves helps us become empowered.
This video is one of many kinds of stories but it’s the kind of journey we’d like, and are determined to, see more of.”

What does this mean for me?
Any project you are part of is a portfolio builder. What might seem like a small task to you could be just the thing a future collaboration partner is looking for in the future, so don’t skip out on the small stuff especially when you’re just starting out.
Also, take the time to pat yourself on the back when you can. I’ve had a couple of low, self-doubting moments this week and being able to write about this video project has been a nice pick-me-up. I don’t get to work on this kind of stuff as much as I’d like but I was privileged enough to do this one this time and that counts for something.
